The Editorial Board holds a LIVE Editorial Spotlight interview 2 p.m. Wednesday with law-enforcement and domestic-violence-prevention officials, to discuss some of the issues implicated in the brutal slaying of Jami Erlich, the R.P. Connor Elementary School teacher killed Nov. 29 in her Valley Cottage home. Her accused killer is Eric Lau, who had been described by Erlich as her “creepy neighbor,” someone who had pestered her with phone calls and date requests. The Editorial Spotlight focuses on stalking and the difference between merely nuisance conduct and potentially dangerous, criminal conduct. An editorial today discusses the session.
Panelists include:
• Carolyn Fish, executive director of Rockland Family Shelter, a New City nonprofit that serves victims of sexual and domestic assault.
• Audrey Stone, chief of Special Prosecutors Division, Westchester District Attorney’s Office.
• Anne FitzSimmons, assistant police chief, White Plains Police Department.
• Ken Donato, retired Ossining town police chief and member of the Westchester County Domestic Violence Council.
