Why do you call it a “millionaire’s tax” when it applies to people earning $200,00? It’s been a long time since I’ve taken arithmetic in school, but isn’t 1,000,000 still 800,000 more than 200,000? If I were a cynical person, I might conclude that the term “millionaire’s tax” is used to incite anger and build support for the tax among people who are not informed about what it really is. If the extension of this surcharge is really a good thing, can’t it’s proponents build support for it without using a term that is blatantly false?
This panel, especially when you add to it the “editors” reads like Joe Stalin’s highly paid, limousined-in cabal of communist overseers just back from the dacha at the lake who will bloviate on the evils of capitalism (for everyone but they, themselves, of course.)
to Coffee and Crumpets- This panel is a group of progressives who are interested in positive values in this world of greed and disparity. You are obviously one of the chosen few, coffee and crumpets indeed! You are most likely a Tea Party or GOP member who finds it easy to lie and accuse and whine about each penny that does not fall into your coffers. It is easy to call someone a communist but try this on for size, you are probably a facist! I say that because the way things are happening in this country is reminiscent of Hitler’s suppression. Blame those who want change for the better so you can keep power and control. It is not they who bloviate on the evils of capitalism, that is your interpretation. They are not the ones who are selfishly seeking to keep everything for themselves. Wake up and smell the coffee. This is not a democracy, it is an oligarchy and they are trying to recover our democracy.
Love the newspeak from the left. Now that the term “liberal” has been thoroughly trashed, they drop it entirely and they’re “progressives.” Especially love the teachers’ union who, at $100,000 + in salaries, summers at the lake, and burgeoning retirement programs counting themselves in the “struggling classes.” Who kids whom? And, so far as “wake up and smell the coffee” is concerned, Jesus, find a new cliche.
