— #theatershooting, James Holmes, Denver, Batman, Warner Bros and Columbine. A gunman wearing a gas mask opened fire during a midnight screening of the Warner Bros. Batman movie “The Dark Knight Rises” in Aurora, Colo. The suburban Denver community is about 15 miles east of Littleton, where the Columbine High School mass shooting took place in 1999. Law enforcement officials have identified James Holmes, 24, as the suspect.
