I feel that the word toll for the new Tappan Zee Bridge is inaccurate. Do not use the word toll use the word EXTORTION. That is what it really is.
I personally have at least a dozen friends that have left NY and will not come back due to the heavy burden of taxes and cost of living here. No wonder the papers recently reported that NY has the highest rate of people EXITING the state.

These tolls are commensurate with the typical bridge tolls in the New York metropolitan area. In fact they will be significantly cheaper. If people want a new bridge with bike lanes, bus transit lanes and future light rail accomodations it is not going to be cheap. Maybe they should raise the tolls immediately so as to limit the increases in the future. The bottom line is you can’t have your cake and have frosting on it too.
