Remember when your mother taught you “if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all”?
Well, she probably should be saying that about Twitter and Facebook now, too.
PoliPulse, a social media analytics tool, has been tracking how people are talking about NBC’s coverage of the 2012 Olympic Games in London on social media, and the conversation isn’t nice.
An overwhelming majority — 80 percent — are complaining about the tape-delayed coverage.
PoliPulse’s 101,011 sources include blogs, Facebook, forums and Twitter.
Topsy, another social media analytics tool, shows a Mashable op ed piece by Editor-In-Chief Lance Ulanoff, titled “Please, NBC and IOC, learn how to share the Olympics,” as the top NBC story on Twitter July 27, the day the Olympics began.
NBC’s television ratings, however, are up this year.
How would you rate NBC’s coverage of the Olympics? Vote in our survey.
