Trending on Twitter in the suburbs and the city this morning:
Akin. U.S. Rep. Todd Akin, R-Mo., said Sunday that pregnancy can be prevented in the case of “legitimate rape” because “the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.” Today the Senate candidate apologized ina TV ad. Akin has until 5 p.m. CT to drop out of the race; after that he would need a court order to be taken off the ballot.
Akin really only has to get to 5pm today. After that, it is MUCH more difficult to get rid of him.

Todd Akin should stay in the trenches and fight like a man for the position he is seeking. Yes his comments were repugnant.
