Police are still searching the woods for a 73-year-old man wanted in the death of his daughter-in-law, and the incident sparked more comments than any other story Monday.
Build an ice rink instead of a Costco store off Route 202 near the Taconic State Parkway, says one reader.
“I would love to see the site of the potential Costco developed to become an indoor ice skating venue. As it stands today, a person living in Yorktown would have to travel approximately 40 minutes in any direction before being able to visit an ice skating venue. Our local teams and school ice hockey programs travel to either Brewster Ice Arena or Westchester Skating Academy in Elmsford for practices and games. It is my opinion that an ice skating venue would fulfill a need in our community. It would also be a quiet neighbor, requiring no trucking, it would generate minimal amounts of traffic while also generating tax money and jobs. These venues are also good for our community, promoting healthy activities for our youth and fostering a sense of community.”
