In case you missed it, ‘Demand a Plan’ made this Super Bowl ad highlighting the NRA’s changing position on background checks for gun buyers:
“Demand a Plan” is a campaign by Mayors Against Illegal Guns, co-founded by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, that calls on Congress to pass legislation to:
— Require every gun buyer to pass a criminal background check
— Get military-style assault weapons and high-capacity magazines off the streets
— Make gun trafficking a federal crime
So far, President Obama’s gun control initiatives haven’t generated more than a timid response in Congress.
