None of the “concepts” for a “new” Playland are friendly to its present user base; none of the new ideas will in any way make it a better park; the outsiders who will be given the park seemingly do not see any reason to talk to or contact the actual client public which already uses and enjoys this fantastic resource. And that is what it is: not a business; not a way for Westchester County to get rich from. A resource It IS a part of the richness of this county, its true wealth. Not just the overdone homes, the Porsche Cayennes and Bentleys; the REAL wealth of its people. The parks; the Sound views; the forests and river walks. The monuments. But I guess we’ll be seeing toll booths at most of those places soon as well.

I fail to see the logic of an amusement park with less rides. Unfortunately, I think the current County Exec sees Playland as one of his personal resources to “give” his fat-cat friends for their profit. That’s not what Playland is supposed to be. It belongs to the people of Westchester County, not Mr. Astorino and his friends.
