The Editorial Board has scheduled two interviews about the upcoming New York State budget.
At 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, The Journal News/lohud.com Editorial Board will discuss state budget priorities with representatives of various groups that seek sustained funding for programs and services for people with developmental disabilities.
At 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, the Editorial Board will talk about the 2014 goals of the state Senate’s Independent Democratic Conference, which shares power with Senate Republicans. Three members of the IDC will join the discussion: Sen. Jeffrey Klein, co-leader of the Senate, whose district includes parts of the Bronx, Yonkers, Mount Vernon and all of Pelham; Sen. David Carlucci, whose district includes the towns of Clarkstown, Orangetown, Ramapo and Ossining; and Sen. Diane Savino, who represents parts of Brooklyn and Staten Island.
